Post-party fun

Time to open gifts!
"Reading" the envelope and her new book.

The Post-Party

Finally, to celebrate H's post-party with the Williams/Potter side of the family (Derek's side), we flew all the way to Oregon. While we were there Derek and H also happened to be in Uncle Seth & Aunt Megan's wedding, but that's another post. On the morning of March 17, one year after H's estimated date of arrival, we celebrated.

She wasn't too sure what was going on with the candle again, but once we gave her the blueberry muffin she sure knew what to do!

She eventually devoured almost the entire muffin - being one must take a lot of calories!

H's actual birthday: March 1, 2008

In honor of H's actual birthday, we decided she would be most happy celebrating in the one place our family has collectively spent more time than any other. What else could we do but celebrate in the car, driving on I-75 from Georgia to Florida? As you can see, at least for these few minutes that I took pictures, it was a big hit with H. So was the little baby i-pod somebody gave her at her pre-party. We're so proud of our little
one year-old.

At the end of the party, one very tired H snuggles with Daddy. Look at those matching blue eyes!

H's first birthday party

A lot has happened since our last post - we'll try to give a quick summary! There are a ton of pics I'd love to post, but I'll just try to give a little of everything for now.

H turned one on March 1, 2008. She had a pre-party, a party, and a post-party! Here she is at the pre-party at the Swenson house in Missouri on Sunday February 24. I think she liked the angel-food cake!
